Outdoor Learning Centre

We designed a large, octagonal post-and-beam roundhouse with a built-in stage and bench seating for up to 30 pupils at Woodend Primary Academy. A comfortable, easy-care, artificial turf carpeted floor provides informal seating for even larger groups, and the the two-tiered, lantern roof gives shelter in all weathers, bathing the interior in warm, colourful light. Outside, large sturdy timber vegetable beds flank the south-facing perimeter giving plenty of room for fruit and veg, and the growing of climbing beans and peas up the mesh panelling of the walls.
