Outdoor Learning Spaces

New Title

Bespoke outdoor learning spaces

What we offer

We build outdoor classrooms, wildlife & allotment gardens, as well as performance arenas and stages – all designed to help children enjoy learning outside of the formal classroom setting. We work closely with school staff to understand the purpose of each space before we begin the design. We create wildlife ponds, out-buildings, science gardens, work stations and more.

Our outdoor classrooms range from simple seating circles set around trees, to small shelters, or large, weather-proof, full-size classrooms incorporating staging, seating, blackboards and tables. These can be used for a wide variety of school activities - from class lessons to school assemblies and performances, and from hubs for outdoor learning to one-to-one quiet spaces, or group story-telling, or just getting away from the everyday school environment.

What we offer

We work with Local Authorities, TRAs, park user and community groups to transform their public spaces. From play areas, community growing spaces, and nature gardens, to planters, ornamental trees, seating and outdoor furniture, we can offer a full range of services including design, landscaping, planting and maintenance. We understand tendering processes and are approved council contractors, fully embracing all aspects of best work practice and health & safety.

What our clients say

River and Rory have great ideas and can advise on what is possible and really help to develop your initial thoughts into amazing designs. They were involved in a large Forest School Project with Hackney Forest School, redeveloping our garden space and creating new indoor/outdoor spaces for a purpose. Their knowledge, creativity and ethos of connecting with nature is worth it! I would recommend them for any outdoor garden or play space work.
