Morland Community Garden

Community Garden

We designed and built a natural play area comprising mounds, boulders, jungle bridge, a slide, pull-up ropes, a balance beam maze with a bamboo jungle, and a fallen oak tree climbing log – all built to comply with relevant BSEN Health & Safety guidelines. The garden includes bench seating and a circular tree seat, plus bespoke picnic tables. We also installed a bonded-rubber chip path and a table tennis area. The whole garden has been encircled by wildlife-friendly hedging, interplanted with large specimen trees and several varieties of cobnuts and hazels for shade and all year interest. The project was funded and supported by The London Marathon Trust, GLA Greener Cities Fund, The National Lottery Awards for All, L.B.Hackney, the on-site Kindergarden, and the Tenants & Residents Association of Morland Estate.
