Vegetable Garden

We quickly transformed the area with the installation of a greenhouse and cold frames – all with toughened safety glass. We built a series of easy-access, raised vegetable planters, including two at lower level for the growing of taller crops – and a long bed for planting berries and fruits. The ground was covered in a weed-suppressant membrane and covered with natural play grade bark chip. The space is now used on a weekly basis, with Gavin (the head gardener) working with children and their parents – helping to foster an interest and understanding of food provenance.
