Community & Play Garden

" It has been a real pleasure working with you on this project, and I could not be more pleased with the result. The whole space has been utterly transformed, and you have been so thoughtful and accommodating throughout the process. The high quality of the end product is a true testament to your skill and professionalism, so thank you again for all you've done for Morland Estate. "
Rachel Gurstein of the Morland Estate TRA

We transformed a seldom used quadrangle in front of the Community Centre into a welcoming space for the tenants and wider public to socialise, hang out, play, and meet in a pleasant green space : a true Community Garden. The garden now includes informal benching, a central tree seat, picnic tables linked along a bonded-rubber chip path, a natural play area comprising mounds, boulders, jungle bridge, a slide, pull-up ropes, a balance beam maze with a bamboo jungle, and a fallen oak tree climbing log. The whole garden has been encircled by newly planted wildlife-friendly hedging, interplanted with nine large specimen trees and several varieties of cobnuts and hazels and for shade and all year colour and interest. The project was funded and supported by The London Marathon Trust, GLA Greener Cities Fund, The National Lottery Awards for All, L.B.Hackney, the on-site German Kindergarden, and the Tenants & Residents Association of Morland Estate.
